Manchester United Transfer News: Wonderkid Emre Mor Eyed Amid Liverpool Rumours

Matt JonesNov 4, 2015

Manchester United are reportedly ready to battle it out with Liverpool in order to complete a deal for Danish sensation Emre Mor.

According to Sami Mokbel of MailOnline, the 18-year-old has caught the eye of the two Premier League juggernauts after some hugely impressive displays in the FC Nordsjaelland youth setup. Mokbel wrote that United have already watched the player, while Liverpool are “exploring” the possibility of a move for the teenager.

Here’s a glimpse of what the young forward can offer, as he helped his team to victory in the Danish under-19 cup final with a goal and an assist:

According to Mokbel, Borussia Dortmund and Ajax are also keeping a close eye on the Dane.

Given the calibre of the teams interested in him, he appears to have a bright future in the game, should he continue progressing.

Van Gaal has given chances to young players since taking over.

Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal has shown a willingness to give young players a chance in the team during his time in charge. This season, Jesse Lingard and Andreas Pereira have both been handed opportunities, while Tyler Blackett and Paddy McNair were regulars in the squad last season.

As noted here by the MUFC Academy, the Red Devils have a long-held reputation for giving prospects a chance:

Moving to a club as illustrious as United is a massive challenge for any player, never mind someone who is only 18. So it’s important that Mor evaluates his options carefully, as the grandeur of a European juggernaut such as United can be daunting.

Ajax are a club with a fine reputation when it comes to youth development, and Mor may look at the steady progress made by compatriot Viktor Fischer in Amsterdam in recent seasons. However, the lure of United may well prove to be irresistible, should the Red Devils come forward with an offer.
