Yaya Toure Jokes That He'd Be 'Killed' for Fueling Paris Saint-Germain Rumours

Sean SwabyNov 4, 2015

Yaya Toure may have a bit of a prickly relationship with the English press, but at least the 32-year-old Manchester City captain is learning.

Just weeks after slamming the local media, Toure gave an much more subdued interview to French magazine France Football (h/t Sport Witness) in which he jokingly addressed a question about a move to Paris Saint-Germain while acknowledging the knee-jerk overreactions in the media to any transfer rumour.

"Ah, no, no. I'll get killed," Toure said when asked about a future move to the Parisian giants.

Additionally, Toure discussed the difficulty he perceives for African players to reach the upper echelon of football's top leagues.

"

I'm convinced that from the off, nothing is done to facilitate our path. If I'd been Brazilian, I feel it would have been easier. It's just an observation, I'm not looking for excuses, but I've had this feeling of being a bother. ...

Basically, when an African reaches the top, the feeling isn't always best. Like it wasn't meant to happen.
