Clowney Has Struggled with Injuries During NFL Career
This is the second time this year Clowney has run into injury problems. He was forced to sit out two games with ankle and back injuries during different parts of the season.
As a rookie in 2014, Clowney missed 12 games with a knee injury that kept him rehabbing well into training camp ahead of the 2015 season.
This season, Clowney has recorded 4.5 sacks and 39 combined tackles on a Texans team that won the AFC South. Houston might turn to John Simon to step in for Clowney but will need the one-time No. 1 pick to keep its defense running to its potential.
