Liverpool Transfer News: Angel Correa Battle Expected, Latest Reds Rumours
Liverpool are set to face a serious battle from Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain as they try to prise Angel Correa away from Atletico Madrid.
According to Andrea Losapio of TuttoMercatoWeb.com (h/t Metro.co.uk's Will Giles), the Reds are prepared to offer £8.5 million for the forward, but the 20-year-old has other, wealthier suitors.
Correa missed the majority of last season after undergoing heart surgery in 2014, but in his last full season, he racked up eight goals and 14 assists at San Lorenzo. Here are some of his impressive highlights:

The youngster has two goals and an assist to his name so far this season as well as grabbing a goal on his debut for Argentina, and he has drawn plaudits from Atletico coach Diego Simeone.
Per Football Espana, he told Argentinian media:
"[Correa’s] worked for and earned everything which is happening to him.
There’s no age in football. He started against Real Madrid and wasn’t afraid, and before that he made his debut in the Champions League and scored a goal. He’s ready.
He’s a unique player who has no fear, with speed, dribbling ... It’s very difficult to find a player who can turn like him, especially in the box.
"
Indeed, football journalist Dermot Corrigan also noted his impressive performance in the Madrid derby, during which he showed no sign of being intimidated by his illustrious opponents or the pressure of the game:
The effervescent attacker possesses great pace and technique, and could replace the departed Raheem Sterling well at Liverpool.
Manchester City's interest is unsurprising due to Sergio Aguero's frequent injury problems, with his replacement Wilfried Bony yet to make a significant impact on the team. As for PSG, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is now 34, so long-term forward replacements are on the agenda.
Correa only made his debut for Los Rojiblancos in August, though, and as one of the hottest young prospects to emerge in La Liga in the last year, they'll be determined to keep hold of their man.
Expect Correa to remain at the Vicente Calderon for at least another season before a possible move.

An alternative could be Barcelona's Cristian Tello. Portuguese outlet A Bola (h/t the Mirror's Liam Corless) report that Tello—currently on loan with Porto—is likely to depart Barcelona permanently at the end of the season and is a target for the Reds.
The Spaniard posted 20 goals and 14 assists in 86 appearances for the Blaugrana. Last season with Porto, he notched eight goals and 11 assists.
Tello is indeed likely to depart the Nou Camp, as—despite his talent—he won't rack up significant time on the pitch due to Barca's incredible front three and the likes of Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal, who will be eligible to play starting in January.
The opportunity to work under Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp could well tempt the 24-year-old, so if he elects to leave, it would hardly be surprising if Anfield is his ultimate destination.
