Spurs' Duncan Breaks Record for Most Wins with 1 Team

Bleacher Report MilestonesNov 4, 2015

San Antonio Spurs center Tim Duncan earned the 954th regular-season victory of his career in Monday's 94-84 win over the New York Knicks, breaking a tie with John Stockton (953) for the most wins by any player with a single team, per Sportsnet Stats.

The top five of the list is rounded out by John Havlicek (824 wins with the Boston Celtics), Kobe Bryant (823, Los Angeles Lakers) and Dirk Nowitzki (816, Dallas Mavericks), all of whom spent/have spent their entire careers with one team, just like Duncan and Stockton.

The 39-year-old Duncan played a starring role in Monday's record-breaking win, finishing with personal season-high marks for points (16), rebounds (10), assists (six) and minutes (35) as his Spurs improved to 3-1.

In San Antonio's previous game, Sunday against the Boston Celtics, the prolific trio of Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili won its 541st regular-season game together, breaking the NBA record for most wins by a trio of teammates, per the Spurs' official twitter account.

The prior record of 540 wins was fittingly and unsurprisingly set by former Celtics teammates Larry Bird, Robert Parish and Kevin McHale.

Duncan also reached another key milestone in that Sunday win over the Celtics, becoming the 14th player in NBA history to reach 26,000 career points.
