McCarthy Comments on Shields' Status
Friday, Nov. 6
Packers head coach Mike McCarthy insisted Friday that Shields didn't necessarily have to practice in order to play, per Mike Spofford of Packers.com:
"Sam's getting better. This will be a big day for him. It's how he comes out of here today, and we'll see what happens (Saturday). ... I would say I would not need him to participate (Saturday) because we have history together. But there's hoops you have to jump through, and he has not done that yet. It's clearly in the hands of the medical team right now.
