Hardy Returns to Action After Halftime

Sunday, Nov. 1

David Helman of DallasCowboys.com noted Hardy's return to the lineup against the Seattle Seahawks.

Hardy's return was far from assured given the scene the Cowboys shared right before halftime:

Tom Pelissero of USA Today noted Hardy was putting “minimal weight” on his left leg as he was helped off the field.

Hardy Is Major Part of Cowboys Defense

Hardy posted three sacks, a forced fumble and consistent quarterback pressure in his first two games of the season.

His presence was a major lift for a defense that was a middling 19th in the league in total sacks coming into Sunday’s game, which means Dallas will once again be hard-pressed to generate pressure if Hardy is out for extensive time.

What’s more, cornerback Morris Claiborne’s season-ending injury left the secondary short-handed and in need of a consistent pass rush up front.

The Dallas offense has also dealt with injury problems throughout the season with Tony Romo and Dez Bryant (who came back Sunday), among others, which put even more pressure on the defense to sack the quarterback and force turnovers.

Hardy helps the Cowboys do just that.

Dallas was 2-4 on the season coming into Sunday’s game, although it is still within striking distance in the wide-open NFC East if it ever gets healthy. Hardy's return will help the Cowboys in their effort to turn their season around.
