Chelsea Transfer News: Latest on Eden Hazard and Juan Cuadrado Rumours

Rob BlanchetteNov 1, 2015

Real Madrid will exploit the current turmoil at Stamford Bridge with a double swoop for Eden Hazard and manager Jose Mourinho, uniting the men at the Bernabeu after Chelsea's torrid start to the season.

Spanish outlet Don Balon (Mark Brus of Metro) claim the Galacticos have already made contact with the Belgium international, but rumours suggest Real also want former coach Mourinho to join him in the Spanish capital.

Former Madrid supremo Ramon Calderon recently told beIN Sports' Richard Keys he thinks president Florentino Perez wanted to bring Mourinho back to the club before appointing Rafael Benitez as manager in the summer, and he would move for the Special One if he is sacked by the Premier League champions:

If he is not anymore in Chelsea I think (Florentino) Perez will be really willing to bring him back to Real Madrid.

I don’t rule out that (he will be back at Real Madrid). If he is not anymore at Chelsea and (Rafael) Benitez is not doing well at the end of the season here, I don’t rule out he’s going to be back here. The president is really looking for that.

The news of Real's interest might soften the blow for Mourinho, as he witnesses the collapse of the team he built into champions only months ago.

Chelsea crashed to yet another defeat on Saturday, losing to Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, with Mourinho looking devastated and beaten after the match.

Hazard's poor form also continued for the Blues, as Mourinho hauled off the reigning PFA Player of the Year shortly after the restart of the second half.

However, the relationship between player and manager appears to have reached toxic levels, and Hazard looks uncomfortable in Chelsea's starting XI.

This would pose issues to Madrid if they want both men at the club, and they might have to choose just one of their favoured talents.

Mourinho would be the more affordable option, especially if Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich decides to sack the manager, allowing him to walk back into the arms of Perez.

Pete Jenson of the MailOnline added Madrid are wary of paying top dollar for Hazard and are "reluctant to break the bank" to capture his services, as they have a stellar attack in place.

Mourinho appears to be on the brink of the sack after his failure against Liverpool, and he was clearly angry after the game in his post-match interview, per BBC Sport:

The manager's stock is at an all-time low, but this could encourage Perez to make his move for a man he has worked with in the past, winning La Liga together in Real's last title success.

However, the Mirror's Darren Lewis said Chelsea need to stick by their coach despite the slump in form, stating he is still the right man for the Blues:

Chelsea's performance in the Champions League on Wednesday will be crucial, as the fallen English champions take on Dynamo Kiev at home.

Another embarrassment for Mourinho could facilitate a dramatic departure, as his chances further run out with every passing defeat.

Cuadrado Agent To Drive Player's Exit

Juan Cuadrado is on the brink of a permanent exit from Chelsea after reports suggested his representative will meet with Juventus to broker a deal.

Sports website ESPN FC said agent Alessandro Lucci will discuss terms with the Old Lady after the Colombian has shown signs of good form since returning to Italian football.

The 27-year-old has been a regular performer for the Serie A champions, featuring in nine games in the league, and being directly involved in three goals, per WhoScored.com

ESPN FC claim Cuadrado's loan agreement doesn't have a permanent stipulation attached, meaning a new deal will need to be thrashed out between all parties if the winger signs in January.

It could be all change for Chelsea in the coming weeks, with the futures of Mourinho and Hazard hanging by a thread after the most dramatic fall from grace.

Blues supporters will not want to see either go, but the likelihood is Chelsea will need to rebuild after this passage of poor form, leaving either Hazard or Mourinho out in the cold.

Madrid know just how good Mourinho can be when he has funds at his disposal, and it is the lack of investment in the summer that has hurt his charge with Chelsea. The Blues stood still, while their competitors tweaked their own squads, and now they are paying the price.
