Sanders Key Cog to Broncos Offense
Sanders reportedly suffered an AC joint sprain earlier in the season, but it didn't force him to miss any time.
The Broncos will be glad to have Sanders back since he has been a target machine for a Broncos offense that's suffered some uncharacteristic struggles with Peyton Manning under center.
Sanders was targeted at least 10 times in four of the Broncos' first six games, and back-to-back 100-yard performances in wins over the Oakland Raiders and Cleveland Browns helped the 5'11" speedster assert himself as a premier possession threat.
The Broncos have jumped out to a 8-2 start, and they couldn't afford to have a top playmaker such as Sanders out of the lineup against the Patriots—especially with Brock Osweiler starting at quarterback.
Denver's passing game hasn't resembled the potent attack of seasons past, so having a weapon such as Sanders undoubtedly bolsters its ability to burn opposing secondaries.
