Roman Reigns' Best Possible Outcomes at WWE Survivor Series 2015

Donald WoodOct 30, 2015

After winning a No. 1 contender's tournament on Monday’s episode of Raw, Roman Reigns will square off against Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the 2015 edition of Survivor Series.

While Reigns has improved on the mic and in the ring, he is still limited in both facets and must be protected. With a stellar performer such as Rollins to go up against, this is the ideal feud if WWE is hitching its wagon to Reigns.

Here are the best possible outcomes for Reigns at Survivor Series 2015.

Roman Reigns Wins World Title

The best possible booking for Reigns and his character moving forward would be to win the world title clean from Rollins. Instead of trying to force his title win on fans at WrestleMania 32, letting it happen on a pay-per-view such as Survivor Series would be smart booking.

Reigns is green in the ring and on the mic, and there is a vocal portion of the WWE Universe that does not want him as the face of the company heading into the future. Regardless, officials are behind him.

Long-term booking suggests Reigns should capture the title at WrestleMania in his second attempt, but the crowd at the show would likely eat him alive. Instead, letting him earn the title in front of a less rowdy group would help the WWE Universe accept the title win.

Whether hardcore fans like it or not, the company is going all-in on Reigns as a top star, and getting his first championship win out of the way as soon as possible means getting to see him lose the title even sooner.

Roman Reigns Wins via DQ

If WWE officials aren’t giving the belt to Reigns at Survivor Series, then the No. 1 contender should win his match against Rollins via disqualification.

The ultimate goal will still likely be to get the belt around the waist of Reigns, so keeping him in the title scene is crucial. With Undertaker’s 25th Survivor Series appearance stealing the headlines, waiting until December and the TLC PPV to give Reigns the belt may be a better option for the company.

Whether Rollins retains the title by getting himself counted out or by getting himself disqualified on purpose, Reigns getting cheated out of another title opportunity would be another reason for casual fans to get behind him.

Having a screwy finish in the championship match at a major PPV such as Survivor Series isn’t ideal, but with the way Rollins has been booked during his reign, it's not outside the realm of possibility.

Pushing Reigns’ championship win to December could help his character get over with the crowd even more.
