Williams Provides Veteran Presence in Cleveland Backcourt
After bouncing around among five different teams in as many years, Williams returned to Cleveland for a second stint with the squad and reunited with superstar LeBron James. Innate chemistry with The King and an injury to All-Star Kyrie Irving gave Williams an immediate starting role.
Williams has acquitted himself well with the Cavs thus far in 2015-16, doing enough in Irving's place to keep Cleveland competitive in the early going. With Irving still needing to work his way back into the lineup, though, the Cavs' depth at point guard gets a major lift with Williams back in the lineup.
Although Matthew Dellavedova played well in the most recent NBA playoffs, he can't create offense nearly as well as Williams can.
