PSG Transfer News: Romelu Lukaku's Agent Says Roberto Martinez Would Sell Star

Rory MarsdenOct 29, 2015

Romelu Lukaku's agent has claimed Everton manager Roberto Martinez would let the Belgian leave Goodison Park if a "good offer comes in."

French giants Paris Saint-Germain are eyeing Lukaku, with a potential £40 million move to the Parc des Princes being mooted for the 22-year-old, per the Daily Star.

The striker's representative, Mino Raiola, has now indicated Martinez could possibly sanction such a move, per MailOnline's Kieran Gill: "Lukaku to PSG? We had a discussion with Martinez, he said he would let him leave Everton if a good offer comes in. But talking about the transfer window now makes no sense."

Lukaku signed as one of Raiola's charges back in March, a move that immediately sparked rumours about his future because of the Dutchman's reputation, per Jamie Anderson of the Daily Star.

A £28 million signing from Chelsea in 2014, Lukaku is undoubtedly Everton's No. 1 striker and their key threat in front of goal. He has often been brilliant for the Toffees, but he struggles for consistency.

In the fledgling 2015-16 Premier League campaign, his tally currently stands at a very respectable five goals in 10 appearances, per WhoScored.com. However, he has struggled to make an impact in recent clashes with Manchester United and Arsenal, per Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe.

Lukaku has the ability to change a game by himself, as he proved at the end of September as he inspired Everton to a 3-2 comeback victory over West Bromwich Albion.

He is already remarkably experienced for such a young player, and it is unsurprising that PSG are interested in him.

The Ligue 1 champions need a long-term replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, now 34 years old, and Lukaku could be the ideal target, as he is only going to improve.

The Belgium international is contracted to the Merseyside club until 2019, and clearly only a significant offer could see him prised away from Everton.

However, given Everton's historically tight budget, a fee in the region of £40 million would likely be hard to resist for the Toffees.
