If social media is any indication, Washington Redskins veterans had quite the meal at their rookie teammates' expense during their bye week.

Several Washington veterans took to social media to post pictures of the bill from rookie night. The players racked up a subtotal of more than $17,000, and once the tax and gratuity were added, the final tab exceeded $22,000.

Some fans may be wondering how many players took part in the dinner. According to 354-pound defensive tackle Terrance Knighton, the entire defense was present:

Brian McNally of 106.7 The Fan reported rookie linebacker and second-round pick Preston Smith was responsible for the tab—for now, at least:

The best thing rookies can do in this situation is just be good sports and pay up. If their play on the field is good enough to help them maintain roster spots, they will be on the other end of these dinners in the future.
