Real Madrid Transfer News: Latest David De Gea, Cristiano Ronaldo Rumours

Rob BlanchetteOct 28, 2015

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is not convinced about the quality of goalkeeper Keylor Navas, prompting a fresh attempt to bring Manchester United's David de Gea to the Bernabeu.

Alejandro Alcazar of SPORT wrote the Los Blancos supremo is ready to sacrifice his No. 1 yet again in his pursuit of the Spain international stopper, "promising" De Gea he will return for his signature.

Navas has taken the reins after the departure of Madrid icon Iker Casillas, but it appears his stellar form in the past few weeks will not see him given the role long term.

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague also believes De Gea will find his way to Madrid, despite the dramatic collapse of his original transfer in the summer.

In his column for Sky Sports, the journalist highlighted the incredible performance levels of Navas, but admitted he believes Perez will ignore this when the time is right to capture De Gea:

"

Keylor Navas is becoming the hero of Real Madrid, they haven't lost a game yet and they have only conceded three goals all season. That would lead some to say that they are a defensive team but, in fact, Navas is the goalkeeper that gets more shots on target of all the top European teams. He made 27 saves, four of them outstanding against Celta Vigo, and he's become the star of Real Madrid.

Navas' form will not have surprised Madridistas as the goalkeeper has been a hugely popular figure since his signing in 2014 for €10 million, per Alcazar.

His statistics this season have been incredible: The Costa Rican has six clean sheets from nine league matches to his name and has conceded only 0.33 goals per game, according to Squawka.com.

However, the allure of De Gea remains, and the Madrid-born player will not be able to easily turn down Los Blancos' advances, should they knock at United's door once again.

Alcazar said Perez has told De Gea he still wants him at Madrid, and will "stick by" his word to sign the goalkeeper, but much will depend on the player's happiness in Manchester, and United's achievements this season.

De Gea has appeared very contented since signing a new deal with the Red Devils, and recently commented how great the United fans were in the recent Manchester derby:

De Gea has once again performed well in the United goal, achieving three clean sheets from his six Premier League appearances, per Squawka.

However, the player is a Galactico in waiting, and the Madrid president will surely not stop until he gets his man.

PSG Prioritise Ronaldo Capture

Paris Saint-Germain are preparing for life after Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and have made Cristiano Ronaldo their main target to replace the mercurial Swede as he eyes a transfer to the United States.

French newspaper L'Equipe (h/t Jonathan Johnson) believe PSG will plan a move for the Portugal superstar, as Ibrahimovic looks towards a potential move to David Beckham's Miami franchise in the MLS:

Ronaldo is now the wrong side of 30, and despite his goal record continuing to inflate, Madrid will soon have no opportunity to cash in on their star if they believe it's time to freshen up their attack.

PSG is the perfect stage for Ronaldo if he opts to end his association with Madrid. The French capital has a strong Portuguese community, and his popularity would be stratospheric at the Parc des Princes.

The French champions are one of the few clubs on the planet who could afford a talent in the bracket of Ronaldo, and if Ibrahimovic was off the wage bill, a sensational offer would not be beyond manager Laurent Blanc's capabilities.
