NXT: Full Preview, Match Card and More for October 28

Welcome to Bleacher Report's preview for this week's episode of WWE NXT, where we take a spoiler-free look at what's in store for the developmental brand's upcoming episode.

This is a relatively slow time for NXT. TakeOver: Respect was a few weeks ago, and the next special doesn't air until December.

Having a long break between big events allows for storylines to develop at a more natural pace, and that typically leads to more satisfying conclusions.

Let's take a look at what's in store for this week's episode of NXT.

The Women

Two singles matches featuring the women of NXT will take place on Wednesday. Both bouts appear to be squash matches, so they're all about giving someone an easy win.

Emma and Nia Jax will be taking on two talents who are unknown to American audiences. While this might not seem especially exciting, it gives us a chance to see these women perform without any real pressure.

Emma is a talented wrestler, but she never really recovered from how poorly WWE booked her during her main roster run.

Getting a quick win might not push her back up the ladder, but it will help give her back some of the momentum she had lost.

Jax, on the other hand, is just getting started. Every win is important at this point in her career. Beating a jobber won't earn her a title shot, but it gives us the opportunity to see what she is made of.

Being related to The Rock and the rest of the Anoa'i wrestling family gave her an in, but it's up to Jax to show everyone what she is capable of on her own.

The Tag Teams

Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano are scheduled to take on two men who had one of the standout performances at TakeOver: Respect—Jason Jordan and Chad Gable.

Jordan and Gable have always shown excellent technical prowess, but now they are starting to connect with the crowd, and that will lead to great success.

There are obvious parallels between these two and the team of Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas, but with enough time, Jordan and Gable can easily establish their own legacy.

As for Ciampa and Gargano, they have yet to find their footing in NXT. They are great performers with experience on the indy scene, but they haven't had that one big win that puts them on the right track.

Both teams would benefit equally from a victory, so it's anyone's guess as to who will have their hand raised at the end of the night.

The Men

Two singles matches are set for Wednesday featuring the winners of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The first will see Samoa Joe go up against Tyler Breeze.

Breeze just made his debut on the main roster last week, but he hasn't actually competed in a match. If he were to get a win over Samoa Joe, it would give him a big boost heading into his feud with Dolph Ziggler.

However, Joe just declared his intention to go after the NXT Championship, and it won't help his cause if he takes a loss to someone who is literally half his size.

Regardless of who wins, this will be a fun match between two wrestlers who are capable of great things inside the squared circle.

The main event of the evening will see Finn Balor take on Tye "Perfect 10" Dillinger. Even if the conclusion seems obvious, this should still be an entertaining contest between two Superstars with a lot of talent.

NXT has mostly used Dillinger as an enhancement talent up to this point, but the kid has the potential to go as far as anyone.

Facing someone such as Balor, even in a losing effort, will give Dillinger more exposure. If he performs well against the champion, NXT could give him a push in the near future.

It's unlikely that Dillinger will get the win, but sometimes it's better to take a loss when it's going to lead to more people knowing who you are.

Wednesday's show looks good on paper, but we will have to tune in to find out if the matches live up to their potential. What are you looking forward to on this week's episode of NXT?
