Nike LeBron 13 'Friday the 13th' Release Date, Pics and Retail Price
As everyone prepares his or her best Halloween costume for Saturday, Nike is giving fans a belated holiday treat on Nov. 13 with the release of the LeBron 13 inspired by Friday the 13th.
Nike was faced with a unique decision for this sneaker because it had two obvious release dates: Halloween or the next Friday the 13th.
Going with the latter does allow Nike to honor the movie it's based on while still coming out close enough to Halloween that fans of Jason Voorhees can appreciate it.

Taking a look at the shoe, per Standard Fresh, it's a rather ingenious design from Nike to honor the cinematic character of Jason Voorhees and superstar LeBron James.
The "blood spatter" around the edge is a unique look, as it can be used as a metaphor for James' killer instinct on the basketball court.
But Nike went all-in on the horror-movie concept of the shoes, all the way to the LJ lettering on the back, per the Sole Library:
There is no shortage of high-profile athlete sneakers available on the market, so finding a design that feels fresh and stands out is essential to making it a success.
Nike is taking a chance with this release, albeit doing so by attaching it to the biggest NBA star in the world.
Given the James factor in this equation, there's no reason this shouldn't be a hit. It also sets up a Halloween costume for 2016 in which fans get to dress up as a zombie LeBron James.
