WWE 2K16: Top Gameplay Videos and Comments from WWE Superstars

Brian MaziqueOct 27, 2015

The hype for the release of WWE 2K16 was a little different than it has been for previous games in the series. This year, there's been a ton of pre-release information, videos and such from 2K Sports. The publisher/developer even started a YouTube channel called WWE2Kdev to help keep fans up to speed on the newest additions to the game.

In addition to WWE2Kdev and the actual WWE 2K YouTube channel, we also got to see gameplay from Xavier Woods' gaming channel called UpUpDownDown. Take a look at Woods, aka Austin Creed, battling a friend in the new WWE 2K game:

Woods is a passionate gamer who plays all kinds of games, but it's clear from the result of the first match above, he needs to brush up on his WWE 2K skills. Woods did manage to beat his friend El Murpho, but he had to call upon "The Beast Incarnate" Brock Lesnar to get the job done.

Hell in a Cell Replays

The WWE community is still reeling from what they saw at Hell in a Cell on Sunday. Fresh off that pay-per-view event, the WWE YouTube channel published a series of reenactment videos using WWE 2K16 to replay the matches from the card.

Check out Lesnar vs. The Undertaker in the video below—perhaps the Phenom will have better luck in the virtual world:

Wade Barrett Speaks

The master of the Bull Hammer hasn't been in many meaningful storylines of late in real life, but the WWE did use him to help push the new game in a recent video.

Barrett shows us his potential almost every time he picks up the microphone. He seems like a can't-miss top-end heel, but it seems the powers that be have decided he can help the company best as a midcard talent.

Oh well, at least you can take control of him in the WWE Universe mode within the game and give Barrett the push the writers in the promotion are denying him.

Lita Got Scanned

Amy Dumas, aka Lita, one of the greatest WWE Divas of all time, tweeted this image of herself during the scanning process:

Lita has to be unlocked, so I haven't seen her just yet in the game, but judging by the looks of the other Superstars and Divas who were scanned, I'm sure the high-flying Lita was rendered well.

The accessibility to various aspects of the game leading up to release is a good sign. It usually means 2K Sports is proud of the finished product. Be on the lookout for my full review of the game.
