WWE 2K16 Review: Breaking Down DLC Details and Creation Suite
Few sports-themed video games offer as much post-release as WWE 2K games. Routinely, the downloadable content that's available in the Season Pass adds hours of gameplay for fans. This year will be no exception, as WWE 2K16's DLC is stacked.
Take a look at the contents of the new DLC rollout in the official trailer:

Samoa Joe
I've had an opportunity to play the game on a few instances, but Samoa Joe was not a playable character on the builds that I've played. He hadn't even been announced as an aspect of DLC, but there's no questioning his value to the roster.
Few non high-flyers will have a move set that is more dynamic than Joe's. I imagine it should be similar to Kevin Owens' arsenal—minus the top-rope moves. Truth be told, Joe should have been in the WWE years ago, but he spent a lot of his best years with other organizations.
Finally, he's within the organization, though he's spending his time in NXT for now. You don't have to wait for the WWE to call him up. Thanks to WWE 2K16, you can throw Joe in with the big boys now.
Legends Showcase
The primary 2K Showcase features cover star “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, but there will be more layers added to the single-player experience through the DLC. The new matches are called the Hall of Fame Showcase, and they include the following matches, per WWE.2K.com:
- “Macho Man” Randy Savage vs. Jake “The Snake” Roberts
- Rikishi vs. The Rock
- Alundra Blayze vs. Paige
- Larry Zbyszko and Arn Anderson vs. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat and Dustin Rhodes
- Tatsumi Fujinami vs. Ric Flair
- The Bushwhackers (Butch Miller and Luke Williams) vs. The Natural Disasters (Typhoon and Earthquake)
- The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) vs. Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray)
Completion of each of these matches will unlock the participating Superstars or Divas.
Creation Suite
The level of customization available is important in a wrestling video game. It’s clear 2K Sports understands that. The creation suite in WWE 2K16 appears to be stacked.
Take a look at the trailer for the feature:
You’re able to create arenas, championships and up to 100 Superstars or Divas. When you consider the game already allows you to have more than 120 Superstars and Divas as it is, the extra characters you can create, or download from Community Creations, can take your roster to well over 200. That adds an unprecedented amount of replay value to the game.
WWE 2K16 releases on Tuesday, October 27. Stay tuned for a full review.
