Mangold Active for Week 10

Thursday, Nov. 12

Mangold was not listed among the Jets' inactives for Thursday Night Football against the Buffalo Bills

Mangold Comments on Availability for Week 10

Monday, Nov. 9

Brian Costello of the New York Post noted that Mangold would not rule himself out for Thursday. "I can’t live that way. I’m very optimistic," Mangold said. "Get in there and get back to work and hopefully, things go better."

When asked about leaving against the Jaguars, he said, "[It] just didn’t respond the way I would have hoped, the way we would have hoped."

Mangold Vital to Jets' Offensive Attack

Mangold went down in a heap in Week 7 when his head appeared to snap back after he used the side of it to block Jamie Collins. Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports noted that medical personnel immobilized his head before turning him over. Mangold was able to walk off under his own power.

New York's offensive system requires a dominant offensive line to set up the running game. Mangold, as the center, is the engine who makes everything work.

Dakota Dozier, who has appeared in three games in two seasons, filled in for Mangold during his absence.
