Brian Costello of the New York Post noted that Mangold would not rule himself out for Thursday. "I can’t live that way. I’m very optimistic," Mangold said. "Get in there and get back to work and hopefully, things go better."
When asked about leaving against the Jaguars, he said, "[It] just didn’t respond the way I would have hoped, the way we would have hoped."

New York's offensive system requires a dominant offensive line to set up the running game. Mangold, as the center, is the engine who makes everything work.
Dakota Dozier, who has appeared in three games in two seasons, filled in for Mangold during his absence.
