Barcelona took on Eibar at Camp Nou on Sunday looking to draw level with Real Madrid on 21 points atop the Primera Division table.

Before the match, the Catalan side made a statement about freedom of expression after being fined €40,000 for their supporters' use of Estelada flags in a recent Champions League match against Bayer Leverkusen.

The side also came out wearing special t-shirts in support of Johan Cruyff, who was this week diagnosed with lung cancer.

They fell behind to a shock goal within the opening 10 minutes, when Borja Baston fired home after goalkeeper Claudio Bravo had saved an earlier effort. It meant Barcelona have now gone seven matches in La Liga without keeping a clean sheet.

Luis Suarez equalised 10 minutes later when he nodded home a beautiful move by the home side.

There were no further goals before the interval but just three minutes into the second half it was Suarez again who put the home side in front. Neymar broke away and took on his defender before squaring to the Uruguayan, who composed himself to score his second.

And with just under ten minutes to play, the former Liverpool man marked the anniversary of his Barcelona debut in style, collecting a pass on his chest to cut inside the defender and fire home and complete his hat trick.

There were no further goals and Barcelona recorded a 3-1 win to jump above Celta Vigo into second place on the ladder, trailing Real Madrid by goal difference.
