While Cristiano Ronaldo has been hammered on social media this evening after what looks, on first impression, like a shameless dive in Real Madrid's 3-1 win over Celta Vigo, one YouTuber has suggested that the fall wasn't really a dive.

The Portugal star, who scored in Real's victory, tried to go around the Celta defender, selling a step-over before shifting onto his right foot before tumbling to the floor and appealing for a free-kick.

Ronaldo, whose past indiscretions mean that every time he falls over it demands scrutiny, appeared to have tripped over his own feet.
