Liverpool Transfer News: Reds Flop Nuri Sahin Eyed, Top Rumours
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is reportedly lining up a move to take former Reds midfielder Nuri Sahin back to Anfield in January.
The Turkey international spent a mixed five months on loan at Anfield from Real Madrid under Brendan Rodgers in 2012 before he returned to former club Dortmund to play under Klopp.
Sahin has been out of action for the Bundesliga club since February, and he has not played at all in the new season, per WhoScored.com.

It is believed that he may be available to buy in January—despite being contracted at Dortmund until 2018—and Klopp is reportedly looking to give him another chance on Merseyside, per Italian newspaper Calciomercato (h/t Jack de Menezes in the Independent).
Klopp has made a fairly underwhelming start to life as Liverpool manager, leading his side to two draws in his opening two matches.
However, it was always likely to take time to implement his philosophy, with tactical and stylistic changes set to be introduced at Liverpool, per Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe:
The 27-year-old Sahin could be an ideal early signing for Klopp, as he has worked under the German manager before and thus would be used to his methods.
Furthermore, as a solid but skillful defensive midfielder, he could fit easily into the 4-2-3-1 system of which Klopp is so fond. Sahin would fit better into Klopp's setup than the likes of Lucas Leiva, as he can provide defensive strength and has the ability to start attacks from deep with pressing and a fine range of passing.
Klopp has a decent set of players to work with currently. But none of them are his players, and he needs to make some of his own additions if he is to improve Liverpool in the long term.
While hardly a glamorous signing—especially considering he has played at Liverpool before—Sahin could be the type of signing to add genuine strength to Klopp's current squad.

Equally, he would be a decent alternative midfield target to Porto's much sought-after teenager Ruben Neves, whom Liverpool have been linked with in the past, per Sky Sports.
Porto president Pinto da Costa has now effectively ruled out any move for Neves in the near future, saying he never wants the 18-year-old to leave his club, per the Liverpool Echo's Kristian Walsh.
Klopp will be given plenty of time to work his magic at Anfield, as his reputation suggests he can turn Liverpool into a genuine force once again.
However, he needs the right players to work with, and Sahin could be a decent starting point as he rebuilds his squad.
