WWE Rumors: Buzz on Road to WWE Hell in a Cell 2015 for Week of Oct. 22

Aaron BowerOct 23, 2015

With Hell in a Cell 2015 just days away, the WWE rumor mill is as busy as ever.

Whether it's updates on what's going to happen at the pay-per-view or even news away from the squared circle about business elsewhere in WWE, there is a lot to discuss.

Here's a look at some of the biggest rumors concerning WWE over the past few days.

SmackDown to Move to Tuesdays?

The weekly time slot for SmackDown has been in the news recently after commentator Jerry Lawler teased at New York Comic Con that WWE's second-biggest show may be going live early next year, according to The Sound Magazine's Scott Yager (h/t Wrestling Inc).

Now, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Wrestling Inc's Marc Middleton) noted that not only could SmackDown go live like Raw next year, but it could also get a move on the calendar.

SmackDown currently airs on Thursdays, but in the future, the Observer noted that it could come forward 48 hours and go out on Tuesdays.

As Middleton wrote, this would be sensible from a business point of view, especially if SmackDown is to go live. The travel costs will be much lower having two live shows back-to-back rather than spread out across a full week.

WWE has been looking at some big changes, but nothing has been finalized just yet. Still, this would represent a fairly big shift for WWE next year, if it goes with it.

Notes on Erick Rowan and Luke Harper

There was a bit of a storm at the start of the week on social media when Chris Jericho posted a picture on Instagram that was quickly removed.

As is detailed on Wrestling Inc, the image showed a whole host of stars, including current rivals Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt, blatantly breaking kayfabe and posing as, in Jericho's own words, "charter members of the Luke Harper fan club."

That photo was promptly removed, and Harper was absent from Raw this week, replaced by a returning Erick Rowan.

That prompted fear that Harper had been taken off TV, but the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Wrestling Inc) reported that there was "no creative decision made to have Erick Rowan replace Luke Harper in The Wyatt Family at Monday's WWE Raw."

The Observer detailed that Harper had a "family issue" that prevented him from being on TV all this week, which would explain his absence from SmackDown, too.

At least it will calm nerves that WWE may have kept Harper away for the wrong reasons.

A Big Hell in a Cell Update

Now for the biggest update of the week, courtesy of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via Wrestling Inc).

Ahead of the big showdown between Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker at Hell in a Cell on Sunday, there is talk growing about which way the match is going to go.

Well, the Observer noted that the expected result will be Lesnar's beating Taker to end this rivalry once and for all.

However, the other option is for Lesnar to lose courtesy of an interference from the man who could be his next opponent.

More importantly, there's talk of both Steve Austin and The Rock being future opponents of Lesnar's, which leads to speculation that one of them could show up on Sunday. However, the Observer claimed that at the time of writing, there was no update about The Rock being in town for an angle or an appearance this weekend.

The Observer also noted that there's no way Vince McMahon would write off such a big match at a minor pay-per-view unless there was something bigger on the horizon, so is Lesnar set to be greeted by a major face on Sunday night, costing him a victory?

That will be worth tuning in to see.
