Wenger Announces Arteta's Diagnosis

Sunday, Nov. 22

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger confirmed Arteta suffered a calf injury yesterday.

Arteta's Struggles Add to Arsenal Woe

Arteta has regularly missed playing time through injury since joining Arsenal in 2011. He was sidelined on five separate occasions last term, per Transfermarkt.

He is yet to start a Premier League match this season, and while he's still competent, the 33-year-old is no longer the player he once was.

However, Arsenal have plenty of injury concerns elsewhere, with Francis Coquelin, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Aaron Ramsey all missing from the midfield.
