WWE Hell in a Cell 2015: Best Moments from Buildup to PPV Event

Donald WoodOct 23, 2015

WWE’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view is scheduled for Sunday and wrestling fans are excited to see several marquee matches that make up what should be a very entertaining show.

From Kane developing multiple personalities to the go-home episode of Raw before the PPV getting fans pumped about the battle between Undertaker and Brock Lesnar, the build to Hell in a Cell has been better than expected.

Here are the moments from the build to the 2015 edition of Hell in a Cell that helped increase excitement.

Kane’s Multiple Personalities

There are members of the WWE Universe who do not like the Kane storyline, but the inner battle between Corporate Kane and Demon Kane is something different and genuinely entertaining.

While you could argue this storyline shouldn’t be used in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship scene, the acting of both Kane and Seth Rollins has helped the skeptical fans get excited about their match.

From Kane retrieving the head of Rollins’ destroyed statue to the Demon ripping through the ring to drag Rollins to the depths of hell, this angle has hearkened back to an old-school age in the wrestling industry.

It is abundantly clear that Rollins will walk out of Hell in a Cell with his championship, but Kane’s build to this match suggests the WWE Universe could see him win via disqualification so that Corporate Kane and Demon Kane are both still on TV every week.

Final Build to Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar

Before the go-home episode of Raw, Lesnar and Undertaker had not come face-to-face since their match at SummerSlam. On Monday, the two men built legitimate excitement for their Hell in a Cell bout.

Undertaker being introduced by Stone Cold Steve Austin was amazing on its own, but watching The Deadman cut a promo on Lesnar was interesting to say the least. Add in Paul Heyman coming out to run down The Undertaker on the mic, and this was the ideal way to build last-second excitement.

After watching the terrible ending to Lesnar vs. Undertaker at SummerSlam, most fans will be happy to see this battle as a way to erase some of those bad memories. With the excitement built Monday night, this was instantly catapulted into the discussion as best build just because of the magnitude of the moment and the men involved.

Wrestling fans can’t help but be more excited for this war inside the Hell in a Cell structure.

The New Day

The best part of Raw and SmackDown each and every week is The New Day, and the build to the tag team championship match has been great thanks to the trio’s antics and promos.

It helps when the champions are going to battle against legends of the business and fan favorites The Dudley Boyz, but it is the quick wits and dedication to the characters from Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods that is really making this all work.

From opening Raw in segments with John Cena to leaving The Dudley Boyz laid out in the ring to close the company’s flagship weekly show, WWE officials know The New Day is red-hot and is riding with the trio.

The result is that the WWE Tag Team Championship match on the Hell in a Cell card is one of the most anticipated of the night.
