Codi Miller-McIntyre Injury: Updates on Wake Forest Guard's Foot and Return

Miller-McIntyre Undergoes Surgery

Wake Forest head coach Danny Manning said the senior guard underwent surgery on his foot over the weekend but didn’t indicate which foot or how Miller-McIntyre suffered the injury, per the team.

Miller-McIntyre, who has missed just two career games, led the team in scoring (14.5 points per game) and assists (137) in 2014-15, when the Demon Deacons went 13-19 overall and 5-13 in the ACC. 

Bret Strelow of the Fayetteville Observer wrote that Wake Forest has the depth to account for Miller-McIntyre’s brief absence:

Entering coach Danny Manning's second season at Wake, Miller-McIntyre and post player Devin Thomas are four-year starters on a roster with four experienced sophomores and three scholarship freshmen. The seniors are two of six current ACC players with more than 1,000 career points. 

The Demon Deacons already have moved forward without senior guard Madison Jones, a part-time starter who was dismissed from the team in late August. Sophomore guard Mitchell Wilbekin made 26 starts a year ago, and 6-3 freshman Bryant Crawford was a top-100 recruit who likely becomes an opening-night starter in the backcourt.

Wake Forest hosts UMBC to open the season on Nov. 13, and per the school’s time frame, Miller-McIntyre will likely miss up to seven games before returning in December. That means he would not be able to participate in the Maui Invitational from Nov. 23-25.
