WWE Raw: Potential Spoilers, Rumors, News and Preview for October 19

Ryan DilbertOct 19, 2015

When WWE Raw hits Dallas on October 19, the Hell in a Cell hype train will pick up major speed.

WWE has to be hoping that an underwhelming build transforms into a charging locomotive of momentum by way of an all-hands-on-deck approach. Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker will be in the same building for the first time since SummerSlam. A pair of Hall of Famers will join them, boosting the night's star power.

Increasing Raw's ratings after weeks of low numbers is going to be tough regardless of who is headed to American Airlines Center, though. WWE is competing against baseball playoffs in addition to Monday Night Football

Regardless, WWE will be focused on promoting Hell in a Cell. That means added animosity between Lesnar and Undertaker, spotlight on Seth Rollins' continued misadventures against Kane and whatever dark place the Roman Reigns-Bray Wyatt narrative is headed will all be on display.

As for what else to expect on Monday's Raw, backstage reports and James Wortman's five-point preview on WWE.com offer a good supply of insight.

Big Names in Big D

In addition to welcoming back both Undertaker and Lesnar, WWE is bringing in Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels as special guests, as announced on WWE.com.

The last time WWE brought in a group of Hall of Famers like this was leading up to last year's SummerSlam. Flair, Michaels and Hulk Hogan gathered to offer their takes on that pay-per-view's main event.

In his Raw preview, Wortman hinted that fans may see something similar in Dallas. He wrote, "Will the veterans weigh in on the anticipated Hell in a Cell Match between The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar? Do they have some survival strategies for Roman Reigns, who is preparing to step inside the notorious structure for the first time against Bray Wyatt?"

Regardless of what WWE has in mind for Flair and Michaels, their presence sets up a star-studded Raw to precede Lesnar's appearance on Steve Austin's podcast after the show.

As Daniel Pena noted for WrestlingInc.com, Austin was previously advertised to be on Raw itself, as well. Stone Cold, though, is no longer on listings for the show.

News, Potential Spoilers

The Rusev-Lana-Summer Rae love triangle veered in a strange direction when WWE worked in Rusev and Lana's real-life engagement into the story of Summer and Rusev's fake one.

Summer Rae reveals she knows about Rusev's engagement with Lana.

There's word that WWE may not be happy with The Bulgarian Brute for letting word slip of his relationship with Lana. According to F4WOnline (h/t Wrestle Zone), Monday will be "interesting" for the powerhouse, as he may suffer backlash over the public nature of his engagement to Lana.

It's worth noting that Rusev lost handily to Ryback last Monday and lost to Dolph Ziggler on last week's SmackDown.

Adam Rose may not make it to Raw to taste victory or defeat.

A kick to the head may have left him injured. Officials stopped his match against Fandango at a live event in Merida, Mexico, on Friday, after the blow. PWInsider.com's Mike Johnson later reported, "Rose was held out of yesterday's WWE live event in what I was told was a precaution due to concern about a concussion."

Rose contended that he was fine:

Even if Rose is cleared, chances aren't great he steps into the ring. He hasn't been used much on TV of late. His last match on Raw came back in June.

Tyler Breeze could be headed for some action, however. A recent report suggested that Prince Pretty's call-up is imminent.

Dave Meltzer wrote on F4WOnline, "I don't know when he will officially start on TV, other than it is supposed to be really soon, but Tyler Breeze is now considered on the main roster. He could start this week although I was told it could be bumped a week or two."

Pro Wrestling Torch's James Caldwell noted that in addition to the big names coming in, the advertised talent includes Randy Orton, Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Sheamus, The Wyatt Family, The New Day, The Dudley Boyz, Ziggler and Big Show.

Last Leg of Hell in a Cell Build

Before Reigns and Wyatt clash inside the Hell in a Cell, The Eater of Worlds apparently has something to share with his rival. After Reigns beat down Bo Dallas on last Thursday's SmackDown, Wyatt appeared on the big screen, promising to deliver a "prophecy" on Monday night.

It's hard to imagine that being anything earth-shattering. Still, it's a welcome sight that WWE is tying in SmackDown with Raw more, having events bleed over from one show to the next.

Knowing Wyatt, his prophecy may just be bluster, or it could come in the form of violence.

Someone attacked Natalya backstage on SmackDown last week. She found herself stunned, on the floor, unsure of who clobbered her.

That's sure to be addressed on Monday's Raw.

With as tense as things have been between her and Paige, that's the obvious answer to who Natalya's attacker was. Revealing that could potentially set up a new matchup for Hell in a Cell.

The Director of Operations and the WWE world heavyweight champ are sure to meet again on Monday. To this point, the challenger has had the upper hand.

The latest example came last week when Kane toppled Rollins in a Lumberjack match.

The Architect may be in for more bad news. For one, WWE has chosen to treat the champ like a chump throughout this feud. Secondly, Wortman hinted at Kane remaining in control.

He wrote, "Will The Devil's Favorite Demon emerge on Raw to further torment 'The Future of WWE'?"

WWE has left the build for Undertaker vs. Lesnar III to the last minute. After SummerSlam, The Deadman retreated into the darkness and Lesnar focused more on taking out Big Show. Now the company has one last Raw to crank up the anticipation for the collision.

That may involve another brawl. Wortman teased that possibility when he asked, "Will we see The Beast and The Phenom tear each other apart, six nights removed from their career-threatening war within the unforgiving steel?"

After whatever happens between them, Lesnar is set to sit down with Stone Cold and discuss Hell in a Cell. That interview is a whole other chance to promote the fight.

Monday's Raw promises to feel bigger than usual with all the added legends, but WWE has to step up its storytelling game. The Hell in a Cell event isn't feeling nearly as must-watch as it should.
