Georginio Wijnaldum Scores 4 Goals vs. Norwich: Stats, Highlights and Reaction
Georginio Wijnaldum put together an unbelievable performance in Newcastle United's 6-2 win over Norwich City on Sunday, scoring four goals to lead the Magpies to their first win of the Premier League season.
As shared by Squawka Football, he became only the second Newcastle player to score four or more goals in a single Premier League match in the process:

It took him just 14 minutes to find the back of the net for the first time, positioning himself well to prod home a delightful pass from Moussa Sissoko, who also had a great performance in the attacking third with numerous assists and decisive passes.

He doubled his tally 12 minutes later with a powerful header, putting the Magpies back in front after Dieumerci Mbokani had equalised. Goals kept falling left and right, with Ayoze Perez and Nathan Redmond making it 3-2 before the end of the first half and Aleksandar Mitrovic adding a fourth for the hosts after half-time.
With the Canaries pressing, Wijnaldum would strike two more times, putting the match away and guiding Newcastle to their first win of the season and out of the bottom spot in the Premier League standings. Per Mark Douglas of the Chronicle, a sensational performance like that was sorely needed:
Former England international Gary Lineker had nothing but praise for the Dutch international:
Football Funnys listed all of the players who have scored four goals this season in any of Europe's top leagues, and the names are pretty special:
"Players with 4+ goals in one game this season Ronaldo Lewandowski Aguero Neymar and now.... Wijnaldum pic.twitter.com/uuQi2b3d2V

For Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe, Wijnaldum stood out for more reasons than just his scoring:
According to ESPN FC's Paul Carr, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is the only other Dutchman to ever score four goals in the Premier League, meaning greats like Dennis Bergkamp, Robin van Persie and Ruud van Nistelrooy never accomplished the feat.
Wijnaldum entered the match having scored just one Premier League goal all season, per WhoScored.com. Newcastle doubled their scoring output as a team in a single match.
