Pat Haden, USC Athletic Director, Collapses on Field Before USC vs. Notre Dame
October 18, 2015
A scary scene unfolded Saturday evening when USC Trojans athletic director Pat Haden reportedly collapsed on the sideline prior to the Trojans' prime-time showdown with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
According to the Los Angeles Times' Gary Klein, a USC spokesman informed reporters Haden was "attended to by team medical personnel" after he felt "light-headed" and dropped to a knee on the sideline during pregame warm-ups.
Lindsey Thiry of the Los Angeles Times relayed video footage of team personnel gathering around the athletic director:
Notre Dame on NBC reported Haden was taken back to the locker room, where he was later reported to be "stable and sitting up," per Klein.
The situation on the sidelines appeared to be tense for a few moments, but all reports from South Bend, Indiana, have been positive. The word from team doctors, according to the Trojans' official Twitter account, is that Haden "is fine."
