Liverpool Transfer News: Latest Players Eyed by Jurgen Klopp, Top Reds Rumours
Liverpool's chances of signing Spanish starlet Dani Ceballos look to have been dashed after the youngster penned a new deal at Real Betis, but the Reds are still hopeful of recruiting Inter's Andrea Ranocchia.
Speculation was rife that Ceballos would leave Betis when his contract expired next year, but the creative talent has signed a new deal until 2020 and told the club's official website he hopes to remain for years to come (via talkSPORT):
"The renewal was what I had been waiting for since Betis opened me the door to the first team. I'm very happy. I hope to enjoy many triumphs with Betis and make the the fans happy."

However, Liverpool may not be out of the race altogether with the news the deal also contains a release clause of just £8.8 million, a figure that's far from outside the Reds' spending capabilities.
New manager Jurgen Klopp will undoubtedly want to get to grips with the talent already at his disposal before committing to a January influx of players but will likely have some funds to play with should he wish.

Fenway Sports Group have already spent a substantial sum on transfers during Brendan Rodgers' two-and-a-half-year spell at the Anfield helm, but the owners will also want to reassure that their new manager is being backed.
David Cartlidge of beIN Sports was pleased with the news of Ceballos' extension in Spain, insisting the attacking midfielder would benefit from the first-team opportunities with Real Betis:
If the 19-year-old were to move to Merseyside, he'd find himself competing with the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino for playing time and would hardly be considered a favourite against that duo.
Los Verdiblancos will rest easier knowing their youngster will remain at their disposal as long as he wants to stay in Andalusia, but the presence of a modest release clause will inevitably leave questions lingering.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are said to be considering a move for Inter centre-back Ranocchia amid reports the defender could be available in January.

That's according to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, which has linked a long list of European powerhouses with the 27-year-old, including Borussia Dortmund, Roma, Milan and Galatasaray, (h/t Daily Star's Rhys Turrell).
Ranocchia is yet to make a start for the Nerazzurri this season and has played just 71 minutes of football across five Serie A appearances, with Klopp reported to have been a fan of the stalwart for some time.
Despite his fall from grace, Ranocchia remains a top talent according to Bleacher Report's Adam Digby, who suggests the player could be a bargain for the right club in the winter window:
The former Bari and Genoa defender has earned 20 caps for Italy since making his international debut in 2010 and replaced Javier Zanetti as Inter captain last season, although he's since lost the armband.
Liverpool have experienced some indecision at centre-back between the rotation of Martin Skrtel, Dejan Lovren and Mamadou Sakho, and the season-ending ACL injury suffered by Joe Gomez lightens their options in central defence.
