WWE Hell in a Cell 2015 Results: Biggest Stars of the Night

Anthony MangoOct 25, 2015

Going into WWE Hell in a Cell 2015, it was obvious that the two biggest names on the card were Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker, though they were just one match's set of competitors and there were many other wrestlers scheduled to compete.

The build was rather lackluster, seemingly banking on this being a good enough selling point to convince people to tune in while the regular roster simply filled in the gaps.

Both Seth Rollins and Kane—the two wrestlers competing for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship—weren't exactly creating a boom in ratings, nor was the other marquee match featuring Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt.

Rumors circled that John Cena would be taking time off after this event, making it seem like WWE cared even less than normal about which people would look strong exiting this event.

Still, there are always people who appear to have a good night and those who unfortunately see a drop in their stock, no matter the importance of the venue.

Judging based on factors such as wins and losses, storyline importance, performance quality, how integral he was going into the next edition of Monday Night Raw and each wrestler's overall position on the WWE hierarchy beforehand, it's time for us to break down what happened at Hell in a Cell and review the biggest stars of the night.

3. Roman Reigns

1 of 3

Roman Reigns accomplished two big feats at this event by surviving his first Hell in a Cell match with a victory and ending his feud with Bray Wyatt on top.

If John Cena is indeed going to take some time off, WWE will no doubt put more responsibility on the shoulders of people like Reigns, who will need to step up even more over the coming weeks.

That is why this will be one of the most heavily promoted victories of Hell in a Cell, as WWE will want to remind people just why Reigns is in the upper echelon of Superstars in the company.

Lest we forget that Reigns was in the main event of WrestleMania and just narrowly lost his opportunity to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, winning this match will help put him back on that trajectory.

This was a good performance with several fun spots, including Reigns' spearing Wyatt through a table, which will be one of the highlights of the night.

Don't be surprised to see bigger things in store for Reigns come Survivor Series; he won't sit on the sidelines like he's been doing for the past few months.

2. Alberto Del Rio

2 of 3

Our runner-up for this list is Alberto Del Rio, but you already knew that, didn't you?

Speaking from the point of view of someone who is far from a fan of Del Rio and was happy to see him leave WWE, it's impossible to argue that he wasn't one of the biggest stars of Hell in a Cell 2015.

His return alone was reason enough to justify his being so high on this list. Since he's obviously set aside his problems with the company, he's likely to be sticking around for quite some time, so this return won't be one of those short-lived things that has no repercussions.

On top of this, Del Rio's return was paired with a victory over John Cena of all people, resulting in his winning the United States Championship—a feat that only WWE world heavyweight champion Seth Rollins has been able to do this year.

Whether he has improved since his leave of absence has yet to be seen, nor do we have any inclination as to what the future holds for the title picture, but it goes without saying that Del Rio must be viewed as a high priority at the moment and will probably continue to be for quite some time.

1. Brock Lesnar

3 of 3

As much as The Undertaker looked strong in the main event of the night, the top spot on this list simply cannot go to him, since he lost.

Thus, the biggest star of the night was the man who once again proved that if The Undertaker is an unstoppable force, he's the exception to the rule: Brock Lesnar.

It was far from a squash match, but Lesnar added one more accolade to his name by boosting his credibility yet again, claiming victory over The Deadman with a low blow—which evened the odds based on what happened at SummerSlam.

Whatever the future has in store for Lesnar, it's clear that he's not dropping down from the top of the food chain and is the force to be reckoned with in WWE.

Who do you think were the biggest stars of the night? Where would you rank some of the people not included in this list?
