WWE's Top Tweets, Instagram Photos and Viral Videos for Week of October 12

Ryan DilbertOct 16, 2015

With nods to unmaskings and a trash-talking titleholder, WWE's best social media served as a celebration of champions and surprises.

A good number of the week's most share-worthy tweets, YouTube clips and Instagram photos featured The New Day being their goofy, giddy selves. Elsewhere, Seth Rollins tried to show up Jonathan Coachman, WWE title history went 8-bit and a former world champion left plenty of walls in ruin.

We begin with that last item, in what is easily The Great Khali's greatest performance.

The former WWE performer starred in an ad for Ambuja Cement. That doesn't sound like anything especially entertaining, but the big man didn't just push concrete on potential buyers—he was part of a hilarious mini-movie that saw him crash through many a surface:

The Dudley Boyz hope to send the tag champions crashing through a table or two en route to dethroning them. On Thursday's SmackDown, they had to settle for facing in them in six-man tag team action.

Before the bout, WWE caught a shot of them backstage with their ally for the night, Dean Ambrose:

That pairing was a fun one, with The Lunatic Fringe looking right at home with the brawlers from another era.

The tag champs failed to win that SmackDown clash. Xavier Woods was not only unable to lead his posse to a win, but he ended the action with a bloody nose. Still, he had reason to be happy as the week came to a close.

Someone superimposed his image on a mock Final Fantasy video game cover, trombone and all:

In the caption of the Instagram picture, the gaming grappler called the shot, "Easily my favorite picture ever."

His love of video games spilled over into a video of The New Day and Team B.A.D. colliding once more. The two squads have had a playful backstage rivalry for weeks.

The latest round featured a Mario Kart-style race between the two trios:

A pair of The New Day's recent victims, Dolph Ziggler and John Cena, clashed on Monday's Raw for the United States Championship. The bout was tremendous. But despite the number of close calls it featured and despite how great the chemistry was between champ and challenger, the talk after the match wasn't just about them.

A fan in attendance that night proposed to his girlfriend. Cena stopped the action to acknowledge the couple:

WWE fans wouldn't have predicted that happening on Raw, but it wasn't exactly shocking either. Being a wrestling fan exposes one to a wealth of surprises.

Diamond Dallas Page revealed himself to be Undertaker's stalker. Chris Jericho revealed that the countdown that fans saw on Raw for months prior was a means to announce his arrival. WWE did well to compile moments like that in it latest top-10 video:

Rollins turning on The Shield, then telling the audience he had joined forces with Triple H could have easily earned a spot on that list.

More recently, Rollins has played WWE's resident irritant, a cocky champion with more bark than bite. Thanks to WWE now getting weekly time on SportsCenter, a new audience got a chance to see that in action.

The Architect appeared on ESPN and butted heads with WWE alum Coachman:

Rollins is the latest in a long line of wrestlers to carry the WWE world title on his shoulder. Artist Christopher Grimm had fun with looking back on that list of men. He crafted 8-bit renditions of every WWE champion and shared it with the world:

Grimm may not have to add anybody to that graphic for a while.

Kane is set to challenge Rollins at Hell in a Cell but is already represented with an NES-style version of himself. Sheamus holds the Money in the Bank contract, threatening to cash in at any moment. He's already on the graphic, too.

When Cesaro, Ambrose or Kevin Owens join them, fans will know WWE is fully committed to forging ahead to a new era.
