Liverpool Transfer News: Robert Lewandowski Agent Meeting Reported, Top Rumours

Rob BlanchetteOct 15, 2015

Jurgen Klopp is reportedly planning talks with Robert Lewandowski as he looks to start his Anfield revolution with a huge signing.

Spanish sports website Fichajes.net (h/t Metro) believe the German coach is planning talks with the striker's agent Cezary Kucharsky in a bid to bring the prolific goalscorer to the Premier League.

According to Metro, the Bayern Munich attacker's contract runs until 2019, forcing the Reds to pay a huge transfer fee if they want to get their man.

Simon Mullock of the Mirror reported Kucharsky has hinted the player's future might lie away from the Bundesliga champions, with Klopp previously saying Lewandowski was one of the best signings of his tenure as Borussia Dortmund coach: “The biggest satisfaction you can get is when you take a player from Poland, from a small club and watch him play like he does today. The difference between that player we signed and the player he is today is unbelievable."

Lewandowski is widely regarded as one of Europe's most lethal strikers after making his name at BVB, before allowing his deal to expire and joining the Bavarian giants.

The 27-year-old has once again been in tremendous form at the start of this season for Munich, hitting 15 goals in just seven Bundesliga and Champions League starts, according to WhoScored.com.

The Manchester Evening News' Samuel Luckhurst compared the recent records of Lewandowski and Wayne Rooney, highlighting the differences between the two's potency after the Pole scored five in one match:

Securing Klopp at Anfield is a real coup, but the cost involved with capturing Lewandowski might price him out of their bracket. Andy Carroll is still the Reds' record signing at £35 million, and it can be assumed the Poland international's price would significantly exceed this amount.

Ceballos To Remain In Spain

Liverpool's hopes of capturing Dani Ceballos from Real Betis appear to have been dashed, with the starlet opting to stay with the La Liga club, signing a new deal until 2020.

SPORT confirmed the teenage sensation will remain with the Andalusia team for the foreseeable future, despite previous reports the player would find his way to Anfield in the near future.

Seville-based newspaper Diario de Sevilla (h/t Adam Skinner of the Express) claimed Ceballos had agreed a deal to move to the Premier League giants next June, with the 19-year-old signing a £1.1 million-per-year wage deal with Liverpool.

However, the information now seems wide of the mark, with Betis and the player set to announce his new club deal on Monday, per SPORT

Ceballos might be one that got away, but the addition of Lewandowski would have the Kop salivating as they look for new heroes to carry the team forward during a brave new era.

Klopp's preference for attacking verve will need a collection of world-class players to be added to the current squad, with Lewandowski's face fitting the bill.

If Liverpool can attain a player who can match the goal return of Daniel Sturridge, a top-four finish in the Premier League will not be far away.
