Allen Active for Week 7

Sunday, Oct. 25

The Panthers did not list Allen among the team's inactives against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Allen Comments on Injury

Thursday, Oct. 15

According to Bill Voth of Black and Blue Review, Allen said he's "just trying to get feeling back in my foot," stemming from complications due to a pinched nerve in his back.

How Allen's Injury Impacts Panthers

The Panthers were already thin on the defensive line. Charles Johnson was placed on injured reserve with the designation to return due to a hamstring problem after Week 3, making him ineligible to return for at least eight weeks.

On the bright side, star linebacker Luke Kuechly is expected to play for the first time since suffering a concussion in Week 1. It also helps Carolina's quest to pressure quarterback Russell Wilson that the Seahawks are tied for the most sacks allowed (22).

However, given Johnson's absence and Allen's injury, the Panthers will have to continue to rely on Mario Addison and Ryan Delaire to keep pressure on opposing quarterbacks if they want to stay undefeated and keep pace with the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC South.
