Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt finally settled the score Sunday at WWE Hell in a Cell, and Reigns came out on top inside the most dangerous structure in WWE.
WWE captured a picture right after Reigns' victory:
It was a physical battle in a highly entertaining match that saw the destruction of multiple tables. WWE captured a video of one of Reigns' spears that sent Wyatt through a table:
Wyatt also had his fair share of memorable moments:
WrestleZone.com had high praise for the match:
Reigns and Wyatt have a long history together that dates back to the battles between The Shield and the Wyatt Family. The rivalry was reignited at Money in the Bank, when The Eater of Worlds prevented The Big Dog from securing a contract for a guaranteed WWE World Heavyweight Championship match.
The feud has exploded since then as Wyatt brought Luke Harper back into the fold and recruited a new Wyatt Family member in the form of Braun Strowman. Reigns has received help from former Shield teammate Dean Ambrose as well as Randy Orton, Chris Jericho and Jimmy Uso at various times.
Reigns and Wyatt have been at the center, though, and they came to the realization that they needed a huge stipulation in order to end their saga once and for all.
Reigns laid down the Hell in a Cell challenge, expressing confidence that he would find a way to beat his greatest rival in one of the most brutal match types imaginable.
As he often does, The New Face of Fear used that as an opportunity to taunt Reigns and perhaps get inside his head, according to WWE Universe on Twitter:
Reigns maintained razor-sharp focus despite Wyatt's verbal barbs, as he had revenge on his mind after suffering months of torment at the hands of Wyatt and his family.
While Reigns was undoubtedly determined to come out on top, David Otunga pointed out on the Raw pre-show that his opponent wasn't willing to go quietly, either, per WWE Universe:
Wyatt's rallying cry since taking Reigns out at Money in the Bank has been "anybody but you." Although he has never fully explained his reasoning, Wyatt's primary goal is to prevent Reigns from winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and becoming the face of WWE.
He has been successful to this point, but after falling to Reigns at Hell in a Cell, the former Shield powerhouse may have all the momentum he needs to get back into the main event scene.
Reigns and Wyatt could potentially continue their feud, however, even though their clash at Hell in a Cell was essentially billed as their final encounter for the time being.
The pieces are in place for a traditional Survivor Series match involving Reigns, Wyatt and their allies, but the best thing for both Superstars would be to move on to bigger and better things.
Neither of them has gained much by going up against the other for the past several months, but both have plenty to offer if WWE places them in the right situation moving forward.
