Wearing pink is only allowed in the NFL during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Pittsburgh Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams apparently wanted to become an exception, but the NFL shut it down, per ESPN's Field Yates.

Williams lost his mother to breast cancer in 2014, so the veteran asked the league to let him wear pink all year as a means of honoring her. It’s a shame he won’t be able to do that.

Williams has gotten creative, though, and dyed his hair pink beginning last year.
