IK Enemkpali Activated to Bills' 53-Man Roster, Cierre Wood Placed on IR
The Buffalo Bills activated defensive end IK Enemkpali to their 53-man roster Monday after he served the four-game suspension for punching New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith.
To facilitate the move, the Bills placed running back Cierre Wood on injured reserve. Wood, 24, was carted off the field during Sunday's 14-13 win over the Tennessee Titans with a knee injury. He's the third Buffalo running back to go down with an injury so far, joining starter LeSean McCoy and promising rookie Karlos Williams
Enemkpali, a 2014 sixth-round pick, came to Buffalo in August after being waived by the Jets. He had been cut in the aftermath of his fracas with Smith, who remains out of the lineup with a fractured jaw. Though it was initially deemed a "sucker punch," additional details about the argument painted Enemkpali in a far better light—albeit one that still earned him a four-game suspension from the league.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
"He'll be a DPR [designated pass-rusher]-type guy and probably contribute on special teams," Bills coach Rex Ryan said of Enemkpali's role, per Mike Rodak of ESPN.com.
Enemkpali recorded three total tackles (two solo) while playing in six games for the Jets last season. He appeared as an occasional rushing defensive end in passing situations and played special teams. With the Bills struggling to replicate their pass-rushing excellence of 2014—they rank 19th in sacks after leading the league last year—Enemkpali may wind up being a good signing for Ryan and the Bills after all.
