Twitter Reacts to France's Crunch RWC Match Against Ireland

It's the day anyone following Pool D at the Rugby World Cup had circled on the calendar. France versus Ireland at Millennium Stadium—the game that was always going to decide the winner of the group, who has the pleasure of meeting New Zealand at the same ground next weekend.

Irish fans were, shall we say, a touch anxious:

And it only got worse once Paul O'Connell, Jonny Sexton and Peter O'Mahony were stretchered off injured.

Some fans started thinking outside the box to break the deadlock.

Meanwhile the Irish fans in attendance started to up their game.

And then Rob Kearney crossed to put Ireland out in front.

There was of course a Nigel Owens highlight.

And something to keep an eye on in the days to come:

But when Conor Murray scored with just under 10 minutes to play, the game was safe and Ireland could breathe...

...for an hour.
