Match You Can’t Afford to Miss: New Day vs. Dudley Boyz
Without a doubt, the most entertaining part of Raw and SmackDown each week has been the antics of The New Day, but without a face team that the WWE Universe loves to go up against, they would be utterly wasted.
That’s why The Dudley Boyz fit so well.
At Hell in a Cell, the stage has been set for the legendary duo of Bubba Ray and Devon to get another run with the tag team titles. The New Day has been great with the belts, but after retaining its championships via disqualifications and shenanigans, it’s time for the faces to finally get the win they deserve.
While on the surface having The New Day lose may sound counterproductive, just imagine the promos from the trio once it feels cheated out of the titles. The promos from Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston and Big E would be incredible.
Add in the fact that this would not be the end of the feud—The New Day would get an automatic rematch, likely at Survivor Series—and this is a storyline that the WWE Universe can support for months without getting tired of it.
What makes this angle work so well is the commitment from the people involved to keep it fresh and unique. The New Day has been incredible on the mic and is keeping the in-ring work fresh by changing partners and using different combinations.
The New Day vs. The Dudley Boyz for the tag team titles will be one of the highlights of Hell in a Cell, and a Bubba Ray and Devon victory could be the most memorable outcome of the entire PPV.
Predicted Winners: The Dudley Boyz
