WWE Hell in a Cell 2015: Booking Decisions That Must Be Made at PPV

Aaron BowerOct 6, 2015

The upcoming Hell in a Cell pay-per-view offers WWE plenty of opportunities to get things right ahead of Survivor Series.

The company can correct the stuttering momentum of the WWE world heavyweight champion Seth Rollins while also rounding off some of its existing feuds with some impressive matches.

As is always the case at major shows, lots of booking decisions need to take place to ensure the show goes off with a bang.

Whether that's title changes, successful defenses for the champions or even turns, there is plenty for WWE to think about as Hell in a Cell on Oct. 25 nears.

Here are five booking decisions the company must make.

There Mustn't Be Any Involvement from The Wyatt Family

1 of 5

The very fact WWE has booked Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt to compete inside Hell in a Cell is to ensure there won't be any outside interference.

The mere thought of Reigns and Wyatt's rivalry culminating inside the cell is an exciting prospect, but as is often the case with Wyatt, there's always the possibility of some interference from The Wyatt Family.

In this instance though, with the end of the feud in sight, it's vital WWE ensures one of these men is the victor fair and square.

Reigns and Wyatt have shown this could be a bruising and ultimately exciting match given the brawl that sent Raw off the air last week, and, as world champions of the future, they need to settle their differences one-on-one.

Paige vs. Charlotte Needs to Be Set Up

2 of 5

It's good to see WWE try to alter the landscape of the Divas Revolution somewhat by having Paige turn against Charlotte and Becky Lynch.

But after her outburst that had seemed to turn her heel and indicate a feud with Charlotte, WWE is, at the moment at least, going with Charlotte vs. Nikki Bella.

That's all well and good as Nikki is entitled to a title rematch as a former champion, but WWE has to make sure it sets up a mouthwatering feud between the two former buddies at Hell in a Cell.

Team PCB needs to be dissolved good and proper, perhaps by Paige coming down and causing Charlotte to lose her belt after wearing it for just a few weeks.

There's even the possibility of Paige coming down and laying out the champion, setting her up for a run as the next challenger.

There are numerous ways to do it, but however it's done, make sure Paige vs. Charlotte is set up.

The New Day Have to Keep on Winning

3 of 5

The very fact they were allowed to close Raw means that The New Day are high on the agenda in WWE right now.

Xavier Woods, Big E and Kofi Kingston are fast becoming the most entertaining trio in WWE, and they backed that up on Raw with a show of ruthless aggression. As far as the last few weeks have gone, this was a different side to The New Day.

They're booked to defend their WWE Tag Team Championships against The Dudley Boyz at Hell in a Cell, and after a controversial ending to their match last time, this one should be more conclusive.

The New Day have to win again, and they have to do it fairly this time. It's all well and good to pick up controversial wins, but now and again the champions need a solid victory to give them some real momentum.

It doesn't feel like The Dudley Boyz need the tag titles yet, whereas The New Day probably do.

Dean Ambrose Has to Be Booked for a Match and Win

4 of 5

Roman Reigns going one-on-one with Bray Wyatt at Hell in a Cell leaves Dean Ambrose kicking around for something to do.

That's criminal for a guy who up until a few months ago was feuding with Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

So what's next for Ambrose?

Well, to starting working on getting him back up the ladder, WWE needs to feed him someone at Hell in a Cell. There doesn't seem to be enough time to get a sustained rivalry going, especially as it looks like Ambrose will stand alongside Reigns until Hell in a Cell.

So give him someone he can beat and use it as a starting block for the future. It would be unthinkable to have Ambrose not on the card at Hell in a Cell. He's one of WWE's most exciting workers, and WWE needs to get him back on track.

Brock Lesnar Must Beat Undertaker Cleanly

5 of 5

Without doubt the biggest match of the night at Hell in a Cell involves the third meeting between Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker.

After Undertaker's controversial victory at SummerSlam that appeared to hint at a heel turn, the third meeting is perhaps taking place much sooner than people expected.

But regardless of when it's happening, the outcome has to be the same: a Lesnar win. Having a guy who seemed untouchable at one point losing in two consecutive pay-per-view shows to Undertaker would be bizarre booking to say the least and cannot happen.

Lesnar needs to win no matter what, which will allow him to close this particular chapter of his WWE career emphatically and move onto something new.

Whether that's taking a step back before returning in advance of WrestleMania season or even carrying on his momentum toward Survivor Series, Lesnar should be planning his next moves with another win against The Undertaker behind him.
