Fantasy Baseball Weekly Wonders Vol. 8
Enough programming notes. On the meat.
Pitcher
Glen Perkins—I know it’s only a week, but some of the pitchers I’ve profiled on the Weekly Wonders (John Danks, Edison Volquez, Greg Smith, Daniel Cabrera) have kept it up. This week I profile Minnesota native and Twins pitcher Glen Perkins. In his two starts last week, he allowed three earned runs in 12 innings (1.93 ERA). He struck out seven and issued just two walks in his first two career wins. Bartolo Colon is a hot pickup too, but he’s a much higher profile.
Catcher
Miguel Olivo—Kansas City’s Miguel Olivo had a solid week going 5 for 12 (.417) with one run, two doubles, a HR, five HRs, and even a SB. He has a hit in three straight games.
Corner Infielder
Kevin Kouzmanoff—San Diego’s third baseman Kouzmanoff was on fire last week going 10 for 26 (.385) with six runs, four HRs, seven RBI, and a pair of walks. He had four multiple-hit games last week.
Middle Infielder
Marco Scutaro—Toronto’s Scutaro was solid last week, going 8 for 23 (.348) with four runs, a double, a HR, five RBI, three walks, and a SB. He had three multiple-hit games. As an added bonus, in Yahoo! leagues, he qualifies at 2B, 3B, SS, and OF.
Outfielder
Jack Cust—Oakland’s Cust continued to rake last week going 5 for 15 (.333) with six runs, a double, three HRs, seven RBI, and four walks. He scored at least one run in five of six games last week.
