Bills Opt for Herron Over Richardson
Tuesday, Oct. 6
The Bills announced they had signed Boom Herron on Tuesday, after the team reportedly brought Richardson in for a workout in the wake of injuries to LeSean McCoy and Karlos Williams according to Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports 1.
Aside from McCoy and Williams, the other running backs on Buffalo's active roster were veteran Anthony Dixon and former Notre Dame standout Cierre Wood.
Richardson Unlikely to Make Impact For Potential Suitors
ESPN's Robert Flores is among those who are skeptical of Richardson's ability to contribute at the NFL level:
The Cleveland Browns selected Richardson with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft before trading him to the Indianapolis Colts in 2013.
He hasn't had more than 563 rushing yards in a single season since his rookie year, and his career yards-per-carry average of 3.3 is abysmal, to say the least.
Richardson has looked nothing like the player who dominated at the University of Alabama, but will continue to explore his chances at finding a spot on an NFL roster as injuries mount during the season.
