Manchester United Transfer News: Latest Marcos Rojo and Victor Valdes Rumours
Manchester United appear happy to trim their squad in the coming months with rumours Marcos Rojo and Victor Valdes will be allowed to leave.
Tom Hopkinson of the Sunday People (h/t the Mirror) said Argentina international Rojo has fallen out of favour with Red Devils coach Louis van Gaal after failing to report for pre-season duty because of a passport issue. The defender's situation has also been compounded by a hamstring problem that has limited his time in the first team.
It is claims LvG was angered by the player for not telling him the full extent of his injury, as reported by the Mirror's David Maddock. This further depleted United's defensive reserves at a critical point after the long-term injury to Luke Shaw.

Hopkinson claimed Van Gaal will now listen to bids for the player in the January transfer window, with Zenit Saint Petersberg preparing an offer.
Rojo has previously spent time in Russia, representing Spartak Moscow in 2011, but it now seems he could be about to follow compatriot Angel Di Maria out of the Old Trafford door.
The defender forced his exit from Sporting Lisbon just a year ago to join LvG's United revolution for £16 million, but it now appears he might be surplus to requirements.

However, the player's international agent Carlos Goncalves recently revealed his client wishes to remain in Manchester, saying to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli (h/t Maddock): “There is no need to talk about it. The player is happy at United and has no intention of leaving the club.”
Rojo has featured just twice for United during the current campaign after making 22 league appearances last term, according to WhoScored.com.
Valdes Linked To Sevilla

After seeing his proposed move in the summer turn to dust, Victor Valdes may now be on his way back to La Liga to sign for Sevilla.
Spanish newspapers Diario AS and Estadio Deportivo (h/t SportWitness.com) both claim the goalkeeper will be allowed to leave United on a free transfer to return to Spain for the club that shocked his former team Barcelona on Saturday, beating them at their La Bombonera home.
Valdes was surprisingly retained by United during the summer while the David de Gea transfer affair continued with Real Madrid, but the Daily Mail believe the player will be released—but only on one condition—as cited by football writer Kristian Sturt:
Rojo and Valdes have both been failures at United; Van Gaal looked toward their international experience to benefit the rebuilding of his squad, but neither have provided sufficient quality.
Rojo is the most disappointing of the pair after appearing very keen to link up with United after the World Cup finals in Brazil—where he performed admirably.
Daley Blind has taken on the left-sided centre-back role for LvG, and his success is the trigger for Rojo's demise at United.
And with Phil Jones returning from injury and keen to make an impression, Rojo's chances of games will further diminish after testing Van Gaal's trust.
