Manchester United Transfer News: Hakan Calhanoglu Fee Reported, Latest Rumours
Bayer Leverkusen star Hakan Calhanoglu is reportedly the subject of a £30 million bid from Manchester United ahead of a potential January move.
That's according to Tutto Mercato Web (via the Mirror's Aaron Flanagan), which noted that an expensive move for the Turkish international could be on the cards in the next two transfer windows.
The versatile midfielder is comfortable operating centrally or on either flank and is one of the rising stars of the Bundesliga.

Calhanoglu has begun the season in fine form scoring five times and creating two in all competitions, continuing on from last year where he racked up an outstanding 13 goals and 11 assists.
The 21-year-old's highlights demonstrate his incredible creativity and incisive contributions to Bayer:
Sports writer Jonas Giaever noted the youngster's phenomenal free-kick-taking ability, while WhoScored.com shared his outstanding dead-ball stats:
With Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata already vying for the role as United's chief creator, the Red Devils are hardly desperate for another addition in that mould.
However, his versatility and age ensures he could be a successful long-term acquisition, while his threat from free-kicks and distance would be highly useful, especially in difficult matches contested on fine margins.
Unfortunately for United, Leverkusen are determined to keep their young star, which could make signing him tricky. According to Thomas Gassmann of German publication Express (via Turkish Football's Emre Sarigul) managing director Michael Schade said: "Calhanoglu is not for sale."
Of course, that could change if enough money is offered.
Another potential January target for United is Porto's Bruno Martins Indi, per Portuguese outlet O Jogo (via Flanagan) which noted the Dutchman could be brought in as a replacement for the injured Luke Shaw.
Martins Indi is also capable of operating at centre-back. As WhoScored.com demonstrated, he's of the "ball-playing" variety:
From Porto's two Champions League matches this season against Dynamo Kiev and Chelsea, the 23-year-old has perhaps improved his ball-winning capabilities having won five from eight tackles, according to Squawka.

Benefoot.net's Peter McVitie believes the defender would be well-suited to plying his trade in the Premier League, saying: "In a tough, physical league, [Martins Indi] possesses the strength, pace and tackling ability required to thrive in the English top flight, as well as good aerial and technical ability."
With 31 Oranje caps to his name, Martins Indi is also an experienced international player.
The Dutchman would already make useful competition for the impressive Shaw at left-back, so with the Englishman set to miss the majority of the season and likely to need time to work his way into form on his return, Martins Indi would be a good signing for United.
According to Transfermarkt, the defender still has three years left on his contract with the Portuguese giants, though, so once again they could be forced to pay a premium price.
