WWE Superstar of the Week for October 3: Kane

The Doctor Chris MuellerOct 3, 2015

The next few weeks will be a very busy time in WWE. There's the Madison Square Garden special, NXT TakeOver: Respect and Hell in a Cell all packed into one month.

Brock Lesnar will be wrestling at two of those events, so management is hoping to get as much press out of his appearances as possible. And let's face it, the company can use all the attention it can get right now.

The last week has featured some great performances by the men and women of WWE. Before we get to the main attraction, let's look at a few people who deserve recognition.

TOP NEWS

WRESTLING: OCT 02 AEW Dynamite/Rampage Pittsburgh
Monday Night RAW

Honorable Mention: The New Day

If it seems like these guys end up in this article every week; it's because they deserve to be acknowledged every week for being the best thing going in WWE today.

Xavier Woods, Big E and Kofi Kingston took a gimmick that was sinking faster than the Titanic and turned it into something truly entertaining for fans of all ages.

In a PG environment, it's hard for anyone to be edgy, but The New Day have found a way to be entertaining without offending anyone, and most of the credit goes to Woods.

His antics outside the ring are on the same level of Jimmy Hart and Jim Cornette, and then he gets in the ring with John Cena on Raw and shows everyone that he is more than just a loud voice and a trombone.

All three members of the group have contributed to their success in different ways, and if they keep coming up with new ideas to keep themselves relevant, there's no limit to the level of success they can achieve.

Honorable Mention: Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns

Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns have been criticized for not evolving their characters in the past, but when they are put together, they bring out the best in each other.

Raw saw the two brawl all over the arena, breaking everything in sight and even going as far as using a member of the production staff as a weapon.

Then on SmackDown, they had a mostly silent confrontation in the ring that said more than any promo ever could.

Sometimes there are two people who can just bring out the best in each other. John Cena and Edge has that relationship, as did Bret Hart and Steve Austin. Hulk Hogan had it with Roddy Piper, and so did Shawn Michaels and Triple H.

Reigns and Wyatt have been feuding on and off for close to two years at this point, and every time they step into the ring together, they put on a brutal match that the fans get excited about.

When they are caged in together at Hell in a Cell, there's no telling how far they will go to entertain the fans.

Superstar of the Week for October 3: Kane

Who would've thought that after years of stagnation, one of WWE's longest-standing veterans could freshen up his character in a way that makes people care again?

Kane has been incredibly entertaining ever since he returned at Night of Champions. The dual-personality gimmick has helped, but it's the way Kane portrays the corporate side of his character that people are loving.

He is using sarcasm and a newfound confidence to get inside the head of Seth Rollins. For the first time in many years, Kane is funny again.

It's doubtful that this will lead to the Big Red Monster taking the WWE World Heavyweight Championship away from Rollins, but that doesn't really matter.

What's important is that he has managed to make himself relevant after so many years of being a yes-man for The Authority.

It's hard to say how long this storyline will last, but as long as Kane keeps providing laughs, people will keep watching.

What do you think? Was Kane the Superstar of the Week? If not him, then who?
