WWE's Top Tweets, Instagram Photos and Viral Videos for Week of Sept. 28

Ryan DilbertOct 2, 2015

The best WWE social media of the week turned out to be the right kind of weird.

The John Cena Vine phenomenon has thrown the Superstar into cartoons, commercials and skateboard commentary. The New Day, left to their own devices, became a showcase of randomness and amusing chaos. Elsewhere, the Los Angeles Dodgers traveled in WWE garb, Steve Austin rode a Jet Ski and WWE gave us a look at teenage versions of Tyson Kidd and Rob Van Dam.

To take in WWE-related tweets, YouTube clips and Instagram photos as September came to a close was to take a ride into the unexpected.

The New Day, not surprisingly, led the way. The often-ridiculous trio turned an interview into unfiltered madness.

WWE shared a clip of Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods commandeering a cameraman and being their out-of-control selves for a solid 17 minutes:

Titus O'Neil, one half of the team The New Day dethroned in August, had a strange encounter on an airplane. When he sat down, ready to fly to the next town, he must have thought that he had been assigned a seat next to the enemy.

A fan who looks eerily like a member of The Wyatt Family was his seatmate. O'Neil posted the moment, wearing the perfect expression:

Stone Cold did some traveling of his own. Like he always does, though, he did things his own way.

Austin didn't fully explain why he was zipping down the water on a Jet Ski; he just let folks see him being awesome:

This is presumably for some future movie project. That's the world where The Texas Rattlesnake resides no matter how much we want him to strap his wrestling boots back on.

At some point, fans will have to let go of hopes that he will storm back into the ring some WrestleMania. Luckily, he provided no shortage of great moments to relive. Fans got to do just in the latest countdown clip from WWE's YouTube page.

Austin joining The Alliance is one of the entertaining moments of treason WWE highlighted here:

Cody Rhodes has the unique distinction of being in both that video and WWE's look back at wrestlers when they were much younger. Tom Phillips guided audiences into the past to see Rhodes, Kidd and The Rock on TV long before they were Superstars.

The new 5 Things clip is a fun watch, even if WWE inexplicably decided to leave out a young AJ Lee meeting Lita:

The video is further proof that rookie-turned-champion Charlotte inherited her father's fertile tear ducts.

She was had quite a first year on the main roster thus far, spearheading a revolution and ending a historic reign. The Dodgers rookies have to hope for similar success. Huge opportunities are on their way, as the recently crowned division champs are playoff bound.

Their journey, win or lose, will have included a tribute to some WWE greats. The rookie-hazing tradition led the first-year Dodgers to dress as Austin, Ultimate Warrior and others.

The Dodgers Twitter account showed off these folks confusing a plane full of passengers:

Although Cena didn't show up there as one of the costumes the baseball player wore, he has been just about everywhere else thanks to a flood of recent Vine videos. The "surprise Cena" meme has superimposed him into everything from anime to advertisements.

Haroon TV collected a good number of these for our enjoyment:

(Note: Contains brief NSFW language)

With Cena reportedly taking some time off after Hell in a Cell, per F4WOnline, these recurring Vine videos may be the best place to catch him for the time being. That's not nearly as satisfying as seeing him put the United States Championship on the line weekly.

It may have to do, however. On the plus side, less Cena on TV could very well mean more New Day.
