Justin Forsett, Lorenzo Taliaferro Post-Week 4 Fantasy Advice

Joe PantornoOct 1, 2015

There's been a lot of disappointment in the Baltimore Ravens backfield when it comes to fantasy football in 2015.

With starting running back Justin Forsett putting up a combined 14 points through the first three games of the season, fantasy owners who selected him in the early stages of their drafts may have hit the panic button.

His lack of production has even called backup rusher Lorenzo Taliaferro into action.

Let's take a look at how both of Baltimore's rushers fared Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. All fantasy stats are courtesy of ESPN.com:

Fantasy owners could be doing one of two things right now. They could be breathing a sigh of relief after giving Forsett one more chance Thursday night. Or they could be trying to find a way to delete their teams after sitting him and watching him produce.

The Ravens running back looked like the Forsett of old Thursday, with physical running and great vision, which helped him rack up 150 yards on the ground.

Bleacher Report fantasy football analyst Matt Camp was one of the first to welcome Forsett back:

Forsett has seen the ball often this year, getting at least 14 touches in each game this season. He just seemed to start slower than usual.

Of course, he'll have to prove that he can do this consistently to put fantasy owners' minds at ease, but his Thursday night performance was promising. Getting the ball in the end zone would help, too, as he has yet to find paydirt this season.

But with the Ravens playing the Cleveland Browns next week, make sure Forsett is in your starting lineup next time.

Lorenzo Taliaferro

Entering Week 4, Taliaferro had 10 fantasy points. The problem was that they all came in Week 2 against the Oakland Raiders.

Taliaferro managed to record points for the first time since then, getting four touches Thursday, but he was limited.

He averaged 4.3 yards per carry, but with the emergence of Forsett, it doesn't look like Taliaferro will be getting enough touches to warrant a spot on your fantasy team.

If he does manage to put up an output close to double digits every once in a while, it's better to watch it happen from the waiver wire. He is not the kind of back you want to rely on in a bind.
