Paige and Natalya Add New Dimension to WWE Divas Division

Sebastian MaldonadoOct 1, 2015

Just when you thought the Divas Revolution might go stale, there's a new wrinkle.

Paige betrayed her fellow Divas, Charlotte and Becky Lynch, on the Raw after Night of Champions. She credited herself for starting the Divas Revolution. She insulted every member of the Divas division, including Team Bella and Team B.A.D.

Paige also had Natalya on her list and asked her stunned former friends and fans if Natalya even worked at WWE anymore. After Paige stormed off, she got her answer. Natalya confronted Paige about her outburst.

Natalya agreed with what Paige said, understanding her frustration and the need to be accepted. Natalya also told her friend that her approach was unwarranted. Paige dismissed her former friend, burning even more bridges as the self-proclaimed “Anti-Diva” continued on her vocal rampage.

It culminated the following week when Paige was forced to team up with Lynch and Charlotte against Team Bella. Paige walked out on her team, but Natalya stepped up. Well, at least, she attempted to.

Natalya stood on the apron taking Paige’s place, but Paige wasn’t having it. She dragged Natalya from the apron’s edge, causing her to hit her head against the apron. The team formerly known as PCB ended up losing to Team Bella once again.

One could assume Paige was next in line before Nikki Bella in chasing Charlotte’s Divas title. Apparently, that’s not the case with Natalya back in the picture, which is a great thing for the Divas division.

Paige and Natalya add a new dimension to the WWE’s Divas division.

For starters, there’s history between these two. They’ve fought and teamed up on multiple occasions through recent years.

Secondly, this brings Natalya back to relevance again. One of the best Diva wrestlers on the main roster was MIA during the Divas Revolution. Bringing her back in this spot shows the depth the division truly has.

Paige needs to be tested by opponents who complement her skill set. Both can go in tough wrestling conditions, like to hit hard and use their submissions to emerge victorious. Both are former Divas champions and can draw the audience in, albeit under different circumstances.

Styles make fights, but so do personalities. Natalya represents the Hart family as Jim Neidhart’s daughter. Paige comes from a wrestling family herself, the daughter of Ricky Knight and Julia Hamer-Bevis.

Where they differ is in generations. The Hart family represents tradition, honor and respect in the ring. What Paige represents is the opposite: She wants to be a trailblazer. These two are meant to clash on that basis alone.

The feud also makes the division deeper. It needs more relevant feuds to sustain the Divas roster. Focusing on just the title bout isn’t going to cut it. A revolution must have more than one story to fuel its fire.

That’s where Paige and Natalya come in. They respected each other at one point, but we all know that’s gone. The day Paige called out her former friend was one she might regret.

Natalya is no pushover, and her ring work speaks for itself. Facing the volatile Paige could be a match that many might remember.

Regardless, Paige and Natalya add a new dimension to this Divas division. Hopefully, the climax of these two divas' feud will live up to all the hype it’s acquired.
