Today N0. 42 broke the track record at N.H. and earned the pole for Sunday’s first race of the chase.

The practice and qualifying speeds from Montoya can only be described as “en fuego” just scary fast.

The most impressive part of all this, in my opinion, was the restrained emotions he showed in the post qualifying interview,. Montoya had many unlikely humble answers.

This guy gets this stock car racing thing, he bought into the culture of it, I feel he understand he needs more friends than enemies to win here.

I honestly think he is a year away from a championship, that’s what my limited NASCAR expertise tells me, of course my JPM fanatic head tells me something else, well read the title of this article that should tell it all.

This team has come a long way, I didn’t think they would make it past this year, now with all this success, a question needs to asked, can TARGET walk away from this team in 2010?

We all most agree, if they do, there should be a few sponsors who would jump on that No. 42 hood. Agree?

I have never seen anything like this in racing ,where one guy could save a whole organization, specially one that is associated with one of the greatest NASCAR drivers ever, Dale Earnhardt Sr.

You can’t make this stuff folks, it's a great soap opera story, a man from a far away land, a foreigner, racing in a sport born in the back roads of the south, helping to keep a team with a great history alive, of course I'm talking about Dale Earnhardt inc.

If you look into Dale’s last name and break it up, you will see two words, “earn” and “hard”, well , you can certainly say The no.42 team did just that this season.

They worked hard and earned a spot in the chase.

Teresa must be happy, the Teresa haters most me turning in their easy chair or their graves.

There is life after Dale JR.

Can the JR nation live with that ?
