Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Injuries Could Lead to Brown-Bills Reunion
Tuesday, Oct. 6
General manager Doug Whaley said, per Chris Brown of Bills.com, that the team could take a look at Brown after running back Karlos Williams' concussion diagnosis. The team is also dealing with the news that LeSean McCoy suffered a setback with his hamstring that could lead to him miss three to four weeks.
That leaves the Bills with only two healthy options in the backfield.
“We have confidence in the guys that we have in Boobie Dixon and Cierre Wood, who have been here,” said Whaley.
However, adding another healthy option for depth certainly wouldn't hurt.
Jets Could Look to Brown for Added Depth
Tuesday, Sept. 29
ESPN.com's Field Yates reported on that Brown traveled to work out for the Jets.
Considering Chris Ivory is on the field again and third-down back Bilal Powell has been active to start the season—48 total touches for 219 yards—running back doesn't appear to be a glaring need at the moment.
If Ivory's injuries flare up or Powell and third-stringer Zac Stacy are forced to miss games with injuries of their own, Brown could be a more logical addition for the 3-1 Jets.
Patriots Decide Against Adding Brown to Deep Backfield
Friday, Sept. 18
Brown worked out for the New England Patriots, according to ESPN.com's Mike Reiss. However, that tryout came and went without a deal.
What Brown Brings to Backfield
Brown (6'0", 220 lbs) is a big, strong runner with upside, but he's had fumbling problems over the course of his three-year NFL career. During his rookie season with the Eagles, he rushed for 564 yards and four touchdowns, but he coughed up the ball four times.
During his lone season in Buffalo, the former seventh-round pick mustered 126 yards on 36 carries while failing to score a touchdown. After fumbling in his second appearance for the Bills last year, Brown didn't see more than six carries in a game.
